Getting to know your business and its products or services
Over the past 19 years I've developed the skill of speed-reading background information and speed-filing it in my head. Like a kind of copywriting chameleon, I can switch from one business to the other in just seconds.
This means that, within a very short space of time, I can get right inside your business, its products and services and start to think like you do.
Of course there's no way I can cram absolutely everything there is to know about you in a few minutes.
I simply hone in on the information I need for the sales letter and instantly filter out what I don't. Like panning for gold, really.
It's something you probably wouldn't get with a less experienced copywriter. It's a skill that's taken nearly two decades to perfect. Also, not only do I need to be able to dart between different businesses and industries, I need to be able to write in a tone of voice to match.
If I write to academics or IT managers in the same way I write to purchasers of diamond rings, it wouldn't work. So within the space of one day, for example, I could be talking in several different tones of voice.
Also, because I've written copy for just about every market under the sun, the chances are I'm already reasonably familiar with your particular sector and target audience. So the learning curve gets even shorter.
